most redline tankers can be one poped by sticking a particle cannon on a sica with 2 dmg mods Most redline rails use 1 or 2 shield hardeners which makes them impossible to pop if you are not very lucky and skilled with your aim. I've never understood this concept of stacking tankiness with redline rails, even before 1.7 I only went for dmg and heat reduction and I 1-3 shotted all the tanks on the field, I even 3 shotted max tanked enemy redline rails while they also required 3 shots to kill my no-tank-at-all redline rail, that was when I still saw redline rails as justified but I didn't engage dropships unless they tried to kill me. Needless to say, redline rails are not justified anymore. But man was it fun 2 shotting bolases! \ yah.... except they never activate the hardeners BEFORE taking damage :P |

not one redline tank ive ever faught has had its hardeners activated before taking damage, its not an assumption its the experiance of destroying hundreds of them and yet not finding a single pre hardened oponent.
statistically its less then 1% chance they will have hardeners running as i havnt come across it over a few hundred kills.
your assuming i dont know how to call in a tank in an odd instagib you cant see the RDV land position.
chrome rail tanker here, i know ALL the tricks for all but 3 of the maps.
also the good tankers dont start with railguns, they tend to run other fits untill a railgun becomes nessesary. |

Triple mod gunnlogi will 1 shot a sica. So you are saying that ~1800 dmg +30% +26.1% +17.1% = over 4100 dmg? Tell me where I got my math wrong in saying that that is not true. Edit: really sorry about the triple post, but mobile phone and all that... Your math is wrong in the way that you're adding it together. Correct math is: 1885 (Proto Railgun) * 1.3 * 1.261 * 1.171 = around 3618 damage. Not saying that's enough to 1-shot anything, but that's just the correct math. I wasn't trying to make a formula there, just trying to show that those percentages are not enough to make you one shot kill any tank. I admit tho that it might have seemed like I was trying to.
you can usually land 2 shots before they can ge tthe moter running enough to duck behind cover again.
7200 damage is REALLY good at killing off redline tanks. its not quite a one shot, but even if you only get one shot off it will eat far enough into their armor that they are a one shot on the next hit and depending on the build also on fire so no recalls unless you got a repper on you. |

Anyway, I don't want to argue about this, just saying that not always can you catch them with their pants down and even if you can, you might not get the 2 shots on them that is needed to kill glass cannons and simplest of tanks.
i havnt failed to yet.
its the third shots thats tricky |

i havnt failed to yet. its the third shots thats tricky So you haven't come across 'head glitchers' or haven't encountered any bugs with your railgun? I want your copy of the game and I want your matches too. My railgun will get one bug or the other 50% of the time that I am using it and those bugs are not new in 1.7 so I wouldn't expect them to get fixed anytime soon. Edit: and I dunno if it's my mouse or what but my reticule tends to slightly move after each shot if zoomed in, not when I am not zooming in. Same goes for blaster, this has been there ever since 1.4.
head glitching is countered by aiming slightly above the target, the hit box extends higher then you think
the railgun not firing glitch is caused by activating damage mods and hardeners, all you have to do to prevent them is to give it about 2 second between activating an shooting and you no longer have that problem.
reload glitched is fixed by getting out of your tank and jumping back in
i have enough experiance with railguns to get past the anoying glitches....
turret glitching is VERY LOS dependant, so they are only really turret glitched through a very specific angle of fire, if they spot you, recall and reposition for another attempt.
the bugs for railguns have been in the game since closed beta, ive had ALOT of time to disect them and learn how they are triggered and avoid them.
if you need help getting past any of the glitches or common tactics like turret glitching let me knwo and i can help you out. |

I also know how to avoid/work around every bug, but needless to say if the enemy knows what he's doing it will result in victory/getaway for him/her if I get any sort of bug in the middle of a fight... :/ Which is why I don't want to argue, I know they can be killed if all the planets align.
... the planets aligning is meant to signify a rare event....
not what happens 99% of the time i aim my railgun.
there are two causes of shooting blanks
module activation
partially fireing your railgun but not completly the shot.
the emptying glitch is is the same bug that effects the installations when they start shooting in all directions randomly on an infinate loop and is caused by something other then direct user input so you cant prevent that one...
but getting out of your tank fixes it.
if your having THIS much difficulty killing off a redline rail, your doing it very very wrong. |

Like I said, if I don't get a single bug, it's easy. But the chance for no bugs at all is very minimal.
step by step instructions to get into a fight with a redline rail without encountering any bugs before the bastered dies
step 1, get your position step 2, activate your damage mods step 3, get out step 4, get back in step 5, nuke the *****
there you go, 100% chance of not encountering a bug before they die.
redline tanks dont move out of the redline (they dont move much at all unless bothered) so its easy to find a place to do this little ritual without any risk before you line up your shot.

I see you are playing completely different game than I am in a completely different world. Sigh. Some people...
im not joking... do this ritual, getting in and out prevents you from shooting blanks, and and if it keeps shooting after dude eats 2 shots it doesnt matter because hes dead....
also dont get into a slugging match, if he sees you youve already lost and you should probably recall and reposition.
think less like two people duking it out, and more like you ninja ganking him while hes focused aiming like all snipers are.
you do know that holding down the trigger makes it continue shooting so you dont have to keep charging up the shot right? |
